The Three Worst Small Business Killers

Trying to grow a small business? Well, there are numerous small business killers out there to watch for if you want to achieve business growth and fast profits . Fortunately, there are more options to use than you might think of. Depending on your type of business, your competitive assets and particular industry, you will find out that you CAN survive some of the worst small business killers.

There is truth in the fact that to stay alive for the long term in business, you need to make yourself aware of the bad and good things that will take your small business down to the pits of no return. Listed below are the three worst business killers and few effective solutions to surpass them and get back on the track:

1. Not enough cash flow to begin

The scenario goes something like this; you opened your business, took out all your savings and pooled all the money you had in the world together to begin. This includes borrowing from friends, relatives, and wiping out the balances on the credit cards. You opened the doors to customers and now months later, the money is getting thin. It looks as though it is over and no way to pull this out successfully.

* Before closing the doors, take another look at the business plan you have to see if you followed it as you should have. Evaluate you spending habits, is there an unnecessary expense? Unfortunately, there is probably an unrealistic idea about the financial aspects of the business and how it can be worked through.

Solution: Look into new ways to get the money you need for your business. This may include equity financing where you sell part interest in the business as collateral for the money given. You have the choice of trying to build up the company on your own and pushing for great success. You can later sell interest in the company for a good price. You could also go down the road of frustration in trying to get the money needed to run the business because of not having the right amount to keep it going.

2. The product you are selling is not a good one

For business to be good depends on the products or services you provide to the customer. The communication between the customer and the business owner about how great the benefits of what they offer is often lacking in details and clarity. Those who own a home based business are especially guilty of this. For them, just opening it up is thought to bring in the customers. This is not true.

Solution: Customers who accept the products and services you offer will be dependant on how you show your business to them. If they feel you stand behind what you are offering, they will be more inclined to try it. Push the information you have on the marketplace to reach customers. Promote and advertise to get the customers interested.

3. Little or no response to your work in advertising and promoting the product

- Were your efforts effective in creating strategies for marketing?

- Can you see results from those efforts or are you wasting money and time on it?

- Was there a professional marketing campaign or were corners cut to provide less money going out?

If the marketing campaign was not one completed in an effective manner, the message was not received clearly by the customer. When it is not sent to the right people, it does nothing to help.

Solution: When trying to be successful with your marketing campaign and advertising, the message must be clear, concise, and express what advantages are to be gained by the consumer. It needs to be real and believable to the customer or it does nothing to help the business. The right message to the right people will bring in the success you need.

We hope you will use our solutions in order to get rid of your problems and contionue to pursuit your dreams. But pay attention: those are just three of the many small business killers that can affect your business. Make sure you follow a sure path to success and don't rush into decisions without a well thought plan!
