DEFINING YOUR GOALS
If you can’t define your dream career and job, then you can pursue it. Most of these steps demand you questioning your self. You should ask your self questions like
• What are my passions?
• What do I want to become?
• What gives me satisfaction and purpose?
• What am I good at?
• Which activities I really enjoy doing?

Take all these fears light and analyze them with proper reasoning. Share these fears with your loved ones and take valuable suggestions. You have the choice of consulting a career counsellor in this regard.
KNOW YOURSELF
It is vital to conduct an internal and external research on yourself. This will give you an insight of yourself. What you are good at, what you are not good at, what are your strong points, what are you weak at? Answering all of these questions will let you know yourself. Without knowing yourself, you should never set your goals and targets.
GET A MENTOR
It is always advisable to consult a counsellor or a mentor that can help you in finding your dream career and jobs. These mentors are experienced, optimistic and provide realistic advices. They actually help you getting started. You should hire a good mentor for you in order to get out of the confusion about your dream career. Regardless of your age, you certainly need a mentor.
FOLLOW YOUR INTUITION AND START TAKING ACTIONS
Action speaks louder than words. And actions let you learn more than anything. There are two ways of learning; learning by seeing/reading and learning by doing. Without any doubt, the later one is the best way of learning. You should always try to test-drive your dream career and job with the help of your counsellor.
- This provides you an excellent opportunity to judge yourself and your potential. This will give you an opportunity to get ample amount of learning.

MAKE A PLAN
For making sure that you reach your goal, it is very essential to plan all your actions and steps towards it. You should know the critical path towards your goal. You should ensure that the steps you are following are the right steps for reaching your goal. For all of this, you need a strong action plan. One good practice is to make a list of skills or prerequisite that you should have in order to move towards your goal. If you goal is to become a computer programmer, then you should make sure that you get all the skills required for a programmer.
* This will help you in realizing your dream career and job. Your action plan will give you a map that will lead you towards your destiny.
ESTABLISH YOUR THRESHOLDS
Finding your goal and achieving it is a long journey. Even if you reach your destination, you should never forget the lessons learned during the journey. You should know your tolerance levels. If you ask yourself, why am I going after my dream job; you’ll get one answer; for my satisfaction. But it is essential to know the risks, challenges that you will have to tolerate before taking a step for this journey. Be brave and prepare yourself mentally for a challenge.
SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE
You should think big but start small. It means that it is not necessary to quit your current job in order to find your dream job. Consider yourself at point A and your dream is to reach point B. Abrupt jump from A to B will result in falling down; rather failing. So the best way to get to B is through a transitional phase. Move slowly but move gradually towards your path, towards your dream career. It might take you months or years to do so. But it will make sure that you are moving in the direction of your dream.
*** Remember, it doesn’t matter much where you stand in life, what does matter is in which direction you are moving.
